No mention of the Great Seljuk empire? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.44.109.182 (talkcontribs) 19:02, 2 October 2004

Maybe something should be said about the 2500-year-old excavations at Issyk Kul? Or is it too early? Esn (talk) 21:43, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

There is some information under the lake's own heading in Wiki. I would like to see some peer-review of the claims mentioned by the paper from the historical team. To date, the only thing I can find is Russian-Kyrgyz declarations. HammerFilmFan (talk) 22:30, 21 June 2010 (UTC)HammerFilmsFanReply

Should be updated to reflect the current ethnic conflict edit

The pogrom against the Uzbeks should be briefly mentioned as NPOV as possible. HammerFilmFan (talk) 22:27, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in History of Kyrgyzstan edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of History of Kyrgyzstan's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "rferl.org":

  • From Helmut Kohl: "Past, Present World Leaders Hail Kohl As 'Friend of Freedom,' Unifier of Europe". RadioFreeEurope/RadioLiberty.
  • From Sooronbay Jeenbekov: "At Final Press Conference, Kyrgyz President Atambaev Plots His Political Future". RadioFreeEurope/RadioLiberty. Retrieved 2017-11-20.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 00:15, 30 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yenisei Kyrgyz Khaganate

Please add the missing empire in the history section it’s called the Yenisei Kyrgyz Khaganate which was founded by Bars Bek who is believed to be Epic of Manas himself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.28.52.84 (talk) 16:15, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

We really need references if anything in the article is going to be changed. Primefac (talk) 22:31, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

None of these are reliable sources. CUPIDICAE💕 16:34, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Then why does that page exist then? Isn’t it reliable enough, I have added the picture and source by Brittanica. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.28.52.84 (talk) 17:25, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

I’m sure we can borrow sources from that article.

Change dating system to Common Era edit

I will be changing the dating system on this article away from the biased, Christian based AD/BC to the common era system.  This will bring the article into alignment with secular usage such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_India.  If you object, please state why you are ok with the biased system here. Eupnevma (talk) 20:02, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Before you go changing AC BC please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style, specifically MOS:VAR. Also, instead of hundreds of discussions regarding the changes on hundreds of different talk pages, get a conversation going here: Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style. Thanks!
