Mademoiselle O edit

Hilda Ward helped to translate Mademoiselle O by Vladimir Nabokov from French to English. It was one of his first English publications. But it's not clear, is this Hilda Ward the person who helped Nabokov? Nabokov's biographer wrote that Hilda Ward, a translator, was introduced to Nabokov by Elena Mogilat, a teacher of Russian in Colombia. 37.190.50.157 (talk) 16:01, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I am looking for "facts" and have learned that someone introduced Nabokov to intelligent and enthusiastic women at Columbia U and that Ward helped translate the work from Russian, rather than from French. This suggests to me that the translator Ward is different from out Hilda. But I am still looking. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 16:55, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
And now I seem to find that the story was first composed in French, so . . ....? Carptrash (talk) 16:59, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
