Team Pages
editI suggest to create pages for schools instead of for football teams only. If the content of certain school is much enough in the future, we could separate them into two items at that time. -- scchiang 11:35, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- I was thinking...maybe, instead of linking to "xyz High School," link to "xyz High School football team," so that the pages for the schools will still be available for people to crate. -- Asdf1248 02:53, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, that's indeed a way. (But won't it be strange to have football team page but school page? :-p) Besides, for spelling of school names, I think we could remove "national" or "taipei county" from the title and only mention them in the context (e.g. create a page named "Pei Men Senior High School" instead of "National Pei Men Senior High School"). How do you think? -- scchiang 04:24, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- If the "official" English name of the school has them, I think we should keep them. But maybe we can make the articles for the ones without them redirect to the pages with them. -- Asdf1248 04:51, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Team name spellings
editWhen I edited the page, I checked all the official websites of participating schools. Here's some issues I encountered.
- Some schools do not specify their English spelling in their official sites (e.g. 北門). For such case, I tried to find one by Google search.
- Some has hyphens (e.g. 三重, 新豐), but some don't (e.g. 中正). I decided not to use hyphens because there is no hyphen in most university names.
- Different spelling in different pages. Take 清水高中 for example, it has "Ching Shui" in the browser title, "Cing-Shuei" in the home page, "Chingshui" in the header logo and history page.
- The English in the official site of 宜蘭高中 is "I-lan". But I decided to use "Yilan" to make it synchronous to the location name.
To be honest, till now, I'm not sure if my decisions were right. -- scchiang 05:36, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know...I guess we don't need to worry too much about it right now. We can always rename the topic if the need arises. -- Asdf1248 05:49, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
