Issue resolved as Beijerinck identified azotobacter chroococcum as active species doing the fixation that Hellriegel produced with infusion. — Rgdboer (talk) 02:50, 16 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

It seems there is some confusion in the specifics of what was discovered by whom. This seems to indicate that the original discovery about legumes fixing nitrogen was by Jean-Baptiste Boussingault but that Hellriegel and Wilfarth later discovered what the process was.
