Can the birth and death dates be obtained for the subject of this article?
I assume this Herbert Maier would have been born in the 1890s, probably in the late 1890s, and since he was still active in 1966, would probably have died sometime from 1967 to 1997. A search of the Social Security Death Index reveals four likely candidates. Since Social Security wasn't introduced until the 1930s, if he ever registered for a Social Security number, it wouldn't necessarily have been in or near his native San Francisco. The birth years of the four likely individuals in the database are 1891, 1892, 1896 and 1897. The 1896 and 1897 years would have put his graduation from University of California, Berkeley in his early 20s, which is most plausible. — QuicksilverT@18:13, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
