Wurzbach and Wurzbach edit

This article claims that there are three roads in San Antonio named after Harry Wurzbach. However, Place Names of San Antonio claims that Wurzbach Road and Wurzbach Parkway are named after Harry's brother William, as does this book. abwayax (contribs, talk) 02:32, 5 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

That does seem to be the case; the original Wurzbach was one of the many 'farm/ranch to market' roads in SA and is named for the homestead, not Harry. Not sure on the Wurzbach Parkway; since it is a recent creation; was it explicitly (re)named after the old road or Harry? The "San Anotnio Names" cite infers the former, I'd use that. Since the original line in the article is completely uncited, I've made the change. If I worded that incorrectly, please feel free to fix it. Nice catch on an obscure article! I think it's safe to say that the parkway is named after Wurzbach Road, because the parkway is an extension of that road. The Place Names book lists that road on page 38; Harry Wurzbach Rd. is listed on page 23 of that same book, where it mentions that the road was named for him in honor of what he did for veterans of the Spanish-American War during his time in Congress. abwayax (contribs, talk) 01:29, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
