H S Ranka (full name Hari Singh Ranka) born on 03 November 1939 is an industrialist of Rajasthan state in India. He is the founder and chairman of Modern Group.[1] He hails from Bhilwara town in Rajasthan. He established Modern Wollens in 1973, the first enterprise with many others to follow. His group include the companies as Modern Threads, Modern Insulators, Modern Syntex, Modern Suitings, Modern Petrofill, Modern Petrochemicals and Modern Denim. He has done many economic offences in india Economic Offences Jaipur in Criminal case No. 14/85[2]. And they decleared Modern syntex in Front of BIFR with Case No 60/2010. [3] and many other units sick in 1990s but their DRS is awaited in many areas some of case no are

H.S. Ranka Modern Syntex (India) LTD. refrence website contain High Court Rajasthan Order[8] used BIFR as a shield and cheated banks and financial instutions private brrowers etc. BIFR Bench II hearing held on 15.03.2012 directed that the bank be granted permission to take legal action for recovering outstanding dues but legal action is still awating with banks proves higher authorities of bank have soft corner for H.S. Ranka Modern Group and money deposited by public is misused and banks are in financial loss[9]
It is intresting to note that on one side they are declaring there Company units sick and file DRS in BIFR and on other side they are Donating Acharya Shri Nanesh[10] hostel Acharya Shri Ramesh Hostel [11] Acharya Shri nanesh hospital[12] and cheated with unsecured small Woolen Traders[13].
Ranka completed his commerce graduation from Rajasthan university in 1959.[14]
Ranka was awarded 'Udyog Patra' in 1978 for being a self made industrialist and shielded by The Rajasthan Financial Corporation (RFC) in 1980 for his contribution towards the industrialisation of Rajasthan.

- Much of the text has grammatical issues that make it hard to comprehend. Some of text also looks to be analysis that might fail Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. Some of the wording, like "many economic offenses" and "cheated with unsecured small Woolen Traders" can probably be rephrased.
