Talk:HMS Tracker (D24)

Latest comment: 10 years ago by RASAM in topic Contradictions

This is just for informational purposes ref HMS Tracker. In approx 1991, a close friend now deceased, found a very large ship's bell in the York River, Yorktown, Va; the name on the bell was HMS TRACKER. I have always been curious as to how this bell ever got there. I can only guess it came from the D24 since she was salvaged.Carriesmom5871 12:34, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Contradictions

edit

1. In the 'History' section Tracker is "...converted into an escort carrier...", but in para one of 'Design and description', it states: "They [the ships] were also laid down as escort carriers and not converted merchant ships".

2. According to the 'Design and description' section, para three, Tracker could accommodate 24 aircraft; but in the infobox that figure changes to 16-21.

There is something that is not quite right here; has anyone got the answers? RASAM (talk) 20:20, 14 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
