Fake and dated arguments to malign the chopper edit
Let me start by saying that chopper is an unstable platform and no chopper in the world is prone to accidents. Second, the information added is maligning in the way it has been added and portrayed not to mention it is dated too. The statement in question is -
As of August 2013, more than 200 HAL Dhruv have been produced for domestic and export markets.The helicopter is frequently involved in crashes with a tally of 16 accidents since entering service in 2002.
1. HAL has produced 300+ helicopter and not 200. [1]
2. There are 16 crashes and of these 14 has been due to human error and only 2 due to hardware fault. That's 16 crashes over 18years of operation and 300 machines. Pretty reasonable. However, the author failed to mention any of these and labelled it as a regular occurrence and yes I am using the same source he has used.
3. Ex. CM Devendra Fadnavis has 5 crashes on Airbus and Sikorsky platform, I don't find any mention of it in those pages. The situation is such that Maharashtra govt is selling these choppers. [2] - wiki page [3]
There are countless crashes of Airbus and Sikorsky choppers but I don't see the zeal in wiki user to vilify those platform in similar light that they handle Dhruv. - I believe the statement should remain because it was reported to parliament in 2016 and flagged as a serious issue with the quality with the chopper. Acbora (talk) 18:17, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Acobra: Please read what I have said and please go through the reference again. The way its been portrayed is wrong, let me quote if you are having issue reading or comprehending the text from the source quoted.
There have been 16 accidents involving the indigenously built Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) ever since the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited began producing them in 2002, the government informed Parliament on Tuesday. Of the accidents, two of them are civilian variants. Eleven accidents occurred in India and five abroad. “Out of 16 accidents, 12 occurred due to human error and environmental factors and the remaining four occurred due to technical reasons,” Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.

- A person is dumb and one acting as dumb are two different scenario and cannot be clubbed as one. Likewise, human and machine error are two different scenario and can't be painted as a single picture Shashpant (talk) 07:24, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- That's not how it is in Wikipedia. Information is shared in Wikipedia and not hidden. If there is report of the cause, it will be put before the readers. You cannot hide things deliberately. Mifiin (talk) 12:18, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

"Cabin Mountain" MG? edit
This article refers to a "cabin mountain MG". I tried to Google what that was, but only got reference to this article and its derivatives.
I believe they mean "cabin-mounted machine gun on a flexible mount". I tried to change it, but it was immediately changed back. No further comment from me, I won't be checking back for a reply. 2605:6DC0:E000:860:9898:D141:29A4:288A (talk) 00:29, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
