Wrong facts
editBeck is no lawyer in Germany and he does nowhere read law in Germany.— Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs)
- It seems that he is a lawyer? [1] Britishfinance (talk) 20:35, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
He is a qualified Barrister-at-law. It is traditional for all countries to recognise each others qualifications. A professor is recognised as a professor everywhere, regardless of which country his professorship was granted in. Likewise a lawyer is regarded by all as a lawyer regardless of what country he gained his qualification in. When it comes to practising a profession in a country other than where a person gained his qualifications it is a matter for that country to decide if he/she can practice. However no-one has the right to deprive him of his professional qualifications. 2A00:23C4:B617:7501:E44B:4EBF:3FE6:743C (talk) 16:43, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Additions made by 88.110.79.227 and previous IP editors
editHi 88.110.79.227, I noticed you reverted an edit I made in the article. The reasoning behind my edit was because while I believe some of the changes made in the previous edit are constructive, part of the content you restored do not cite a source (which is generally avoided for biographies of living persons), while other parts of it cite Wikipedia articles as a source (always avoid circular references). I have made an edit that adapted to reach middle ground between the two versions of the article, rather than revert your edit, and I encourage you to do the same to improve the quality of the article.—Aranya (talk | contribs) 04:07, 30 June 2019 (UTC)
Why a Brit in EU parliament
editThe article describes a British academic who somehow represents a German party in the EU parliament. Can someone connect the dots on that contradiction? Especially now that the UK is officially out the EU. Phytism (talk) 16:51, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
Clearly self-authored
editThis wikipedia page is to a quite low-profile academic, yet has very extensive, sometimes uncited discussion of their academic career and publications. Clearly the person the page is about has authored most of this for the purposes of making themselves look a more significant scholar than they are. 150.203.154.5 (talk) 03:16, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
