No evidence that many rioters supported American independence.

It was anti-Catholic. Just because it happened during the war doesn't mean the rioters supported the rebels.

Can we have a citation or remove it, please?

Reason for the riots

Came here to learn about the reason for the riots, but left knowing less than before. I don't think the way this article is written is conducive to understanding why they happened. It might be more helpful, if there are multiple interpretations of the reasons, to explain them each in their own section. Viriditas (talk) 21:07, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
