Genicular artery → Genicular arteries – Page refers to several types of genicular artery; many other pages digress from the singular: Ketone bodies, Cowdry bodies,Smallest cardiac veins, Thymus veins, Perforating arteries, Emissary veins, Vorticose veins, Cerebral veins, etc Iztwoz (talk) 17:38, 5 March 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). - Iztwoz As per previous request, please see WP:SINGULAR. -Kj cheetham (talk) 18:00, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- To clarify, given this has been contested and removed from here before, it's now a WP:PCM and hence needs a full WP:RM, which can be done via the "discuss" link. I am only contesting it as a technical request, I have no view otherwise. -Kj cheetham (talk) 18:34, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- Note that WP:SINGULAR does not suggest the singular form for articles about "classes of objects". See Talk:Flight control surfaces, Arabic numerals and Bantu languages. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:53, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Iztwoz, I would also prefer this to be in the plural form, but clearly it's not uncontroversial enough to be processed here. Dr. Vogel (talk) 22:35, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- I would like to add further to this as the issue has been raised before re Inclusion bodies. Cut and paste from WP:5P5 - Wikipedia has no firm rules Wikipedia has policies and guidelines, but they are not carved in stone; their content and interpretation can evolve over time. The principles and spirit matter more than literal wording, and sometimes improving Wikipedia requires making exceptions. Be bold, but not reckless, in updating articles. And do not agonize over making mistakes: they can be corrected easily because (almost) every past version of each article is saved. When titling articles in specific fields, or with respect to particular problems, there is often previous consensus that can be used as a precedent. Look to the guideline pages referenced. When no previous consensus exists, a new consensus is established through discussion, with the above questions in mind. The choice of article titles should put the interests of readers before those of editors, and those of a general audience before those of specialists.
- There is such a range of articles that use the plural that I would think a consensus has been established: to add to the list – Cranial nerves, Human rights, Longitudinal striae, Suicide methods - all long established non-contested use.--Iztwoz (talk) 08:33, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Even just given the amount of discussion here about it, and even if I agree with it, this is still a WP:PCM to me and should go to a full WP:RM. -Kj cheetham (talk) 09:44, 6 March 2023 (UTC)

- Support: This is about a set of six arteries. Although each of them can be discussed individually, the article is about the group, so I believe WP:SINGULAR (despite its name) recommends a plural title in this case. See also my prior comments above. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:39, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Weak support per BarrelProof and the article title Web colors, as well as the conclusion of my failed move proposal to get the article moved to the singular "Web color". (I'm "weak" because I'm about consistency, though I usually believe singular form should be used whenever possible if the article is not essentially a list article or the equivalent of a WP:BROADCONCEPT; I'm not 100% sure if this article could be considered essentially either a list article or WP:BROADCONCEPT or not.) Steel1943 (talk) 18:57, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Support. Mainly because the singular term "genicular artery" means nothing to me. But the plural term makes perfect sense. Dr. Vogel (talk) 19:45, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
