Talk:Genève-Cornavin railway station

The article title, text, and infobox are a little confused as to whether this station is called Genève-Cornavin, Genève, or Geneva. A few pointers:

  • On the station information pages, SBB calls the station Genf Cornavin (in German), Genève Cornavin (in French), Ginevra Cornavin (in Italian), and Geneva Cornavin (in English).
  • The departure plan drops the "Cornavin" (the plan is in French; SBB uses the preferred local language for these documents).
  • The line timetables (151 is representative) say Genève.
  • The TPG service map says "Genève" for the station and "Gare Cornavin" for the adjoining bus/tram station.
  • The trafimage plan also drops the Cornavin for the station itself, though it's visible elsewhere.
  • Regarding the spelling of the name, where the name varies according to the language SBB is in the habit of using that name as well, and that's generally been the practice on the English Wikipedia as well. Examples include Basel SBB and Lucerne. Spelling of the title on other projects is inconsistent, for example de:Bahnhof Genève-Cornavin (not Bahnhof Genf-Cornavin) on the German Wikipedia but it:Stazione di Ginevra Cornavin on the Italian Wikipedia.

I think the proper location of this article is either Geneva railway station (already a redirect here). or Genève railway station. Mackensen (talk) 22:42, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
