While Geethanjali is the correct transliteration from the Bangla name, Tagore himself used a Gitanjali for the English name. Tagore was awarded nobel prize for the English language translation, named Gitanjali [1]. So, this article should be moved to Gitanjali. Thanks. --Ragib 04:42, 17 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Requested move edit

GeetaanjaliGeethanjali – The censor certificate issued by Central Board of Film Certification shows the title as Geethanjali while the title cards mention it as Gitanjali (see this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HB8C0MYauRw&feature=watch-now-button&wide=1).

Due to what reason must we create a dab page? There is only one subject titled "Geethanjali", "Geetaanjali" and "Gitanjali". Secret of success (talk) 05:45, 15 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
The dab page is necessary because -
  1. it may refer to Gitanjali
  2. may refer to Geetanjali (1993 Hindi film)
  3. may refer to many people named Geetanjali such as -
Geetanjali Lal - Kathak dancer
Geetanjali Gangoli - Director of Postgraduate Research (Political studies) Bristol University
  1. may refer to Gitanjali Express - a daily train running between Two metro cities Kolkata Howrah in West Bengal and Mumbai CST in Maharashtra.

So far that's what I found after a 5 minute search. So the dab page will clarify this phonetically equivalent word. Sumanch (talk) 13:55, 16 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ok, sounds sensible. But the convention is to dab it by year, not language. So, Geethanjali (1989 film) is the appropriate one. Secret of success (talk) 15:08, 17 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Action edit

Ok. So I will do the move according to the discussion.

GeetaanjaliGeethanjali (1989 film)
Create dab Geetanjali (disambiguation) (I think the spelling is Geetanjali instead of Geetaanjali)
Redirect GeetaanjaliGeetanjali (disambiguation)
