Requested move 3 November 2020 edit

The result of the move request was: Moved to Fuzzy duck per Station1. As Lord Belbury pointed out, MOS:GAMECAPS calls for lowercase, and Station1 has demonstrated a strong case for the game being the primary topic, the competitors being a short-lived 1970s band and their only album. I'm unsure what to do with dab page Fuzzy Duck, but perhaps best to leave it where it is for the time being per WP:SMALLDETAILS. No such user (talk) 14:18, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

- That is a proper name, isn't it? It's the name of a particular game, like Snakes and Ladders or Hounds and Jackals. See the membership of Category:Games. — User:BarrelProof (talk) 14:20, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: Certainly where the game is a brand name it would be capitalized. But there's no more reason to capitalize the name of a game such as fuzzy duck than, say, chess, air hockey, Texas hold 'em, or pin the tail on the donkey. This article is a good summary of what the standard practice is with respect to the capitalization of games. This position is reaffirmed by New Hart's Rules (see p. 137 of the 2014 edition) and I can't find anything to the contrary in any major style guide or dictionary. 207.161.86.162 (talk) 22:26, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- Wikipedia's own guidelines take precedence over such external style guides. You seem to think that Snakes and Ladders and Hounds and Jackals should be moved as well (and many others, like Alak Dolak, Never Have I Ever, Squeak Piggy Squeak, The Dozens, The Priest of the Parish and Twenty Questions), and that brand names should be given a special status in a way that may be contrary to MOS:TM. I suggest that we should not consider this to be an obviously justified renaming and that it should be discussed instead. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:24, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
