Where does the list of recipients come from? I can neither find any English-language nor Chinese-language information on that.

In fact, I think that at least some of the recipients are listed wrongly. For example, see: http://www.malik-management.com/zh/malik-corporate/fredmund-malik/china-friendship-award - - That website states that Malik won the "中国政府友谊奖", which is NOT the same as the 友谊勋章!

The first reference of the article (http://english.gov.cn/premier/news/2016/09/30/content_281475455373205.htm) makes the same mistake! It is a report about the "Friendship Award" - - this is *not* the same as the "Order of Friendship"! These are two different Chinese state honors! The "Friendship Award" dates back to the 1950s, while the Order of Friendship only took effect as of January 1st, 2016.

Order of Friendship (People's Republic of China)Order of Friendship (China) – the current title is too long. I think we should use "China" install of its full name. El caballero de los Leones (talk) 05:05, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Support since the ROC does not have one. cookie monster (2020) 755 01:59, 17 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. We usually use simply "China" to refer to the PRC. -- Necrothesp (talk) 23:23, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

order? medal? edit

it's a page about the Order or about the medal? The title is about the Order, but the text is about the medal. Here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristofer_Schipper says: In 2004 Schipper was awarded the Order of Friendship of the Chinese government for establishing this library. and it links here. But in 2004 there was no medal yet. The whole situation is quite messy, isn't it? --147.162.48.1 (talk) 08:38, 26 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

According to Global Times, he received the Friendship Award (友谊奖), which is a different award altogether. The Friendship Medal and Order just seem like different translations of 友谊勋章. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 20:59, 20 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
