Chronology edit
~ it is confusing on the issue of the french UNION suceeding the French Community, as it is the other way around.
Specifically this line
"part of Guinea, which chose by referendum in 1958 not to join the Community, all French-ruled territory in sub-Saharan Africa joined the successor to the French Union. "
The Chronology is
UNION THEN COMMUNITY
"all French-ruled territory in sub-Saharan Africa joined the successor to the French Union." The line is badly written as the first half of the sentance dates 1958 and the COMMUNITY OCCURED AFTER THE UNION NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.92.203.52 (talk) 20:23, 8 September 2006
End date? edit
When did French Community get dissolved? Or is it still around? (Unlikely given existence of Francophonie...) Wl219 21:11, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Successor states edit
The WPFC infobox should list as successor states all the countries that were in the Community and are now independent... — OwenBlacker (Talk) 23:15, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I started an RFC on when should we said the French colonial empire ended. It's at Talk:French_colonial_empire#RfC:_When_did_the_French_colonial_empire_end.3F. Please comment there if you can. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 04:02, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Succeeded by the French Fifth Republic? edit
I don't think so, given that the French Community was disestablished. Can someone fix the infobox? Thanks! Firestar464 (talk) 10:07, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
