I inadvertently used dates from the American Philosophical Society collection, which were for the years the collection covered, not his lifespan. Birth date comes from Social Security Death Index:

FREDERICK OSBORN b. 21 Mar 1889 d. Jan 1981 10524 (Garrison, Putnam, NY) 10524 (Garrison, Putnam, NY) 054-30-8419 New York

Death date comes from NYT obituary (cited in references):

Henry Osborn, who ran the Army's Information and Education Division as a major general during World War II and then represented the United States at the United Nations in unsuccessful efforts to achieve international control of atomic energy, died Monday at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. He was 91 years...
