Some possible improvements
editI have assessed this article for the Military History project and believe that it is very close to B class. If the following issues could be addressed, I feel it could be promoted from a Start:
- References: the paragaph about Post war service needs an inline citation;
- Coverage: could a sentence be added about what Buchner did before joining the infantry as a 16 year old? This is a small thing (and probably wouldn't hold up B class in my opinion) but could help to add a bit more biographical detail to the article;
- Grammar: A couple of minor points, nothing major:
- (1) there are a few single sentence paragraphs. Could these be worked into a larger paragraph?
- (2) Also there seems some confusion in terminology, some times the term 'win' is used, and at other times the term 'victory' is used in regards to shooting down an enemy aircraft. Could these be fixed for consistency of terminology?
- (3) There are variations in spelling of the subject's name throughout the article, sometimes Buchner, sometimes Buechner. These need to be fixed.
- Supporting materials: (not a requirement as it already passes), an image of the subject would greatly improve the article if a PD or free image could be obtained. Perhaps the aerodrome.com people could let you use the one they have, if it is not still covered by copyright?
I've done some formating of the citations so that they are more in line with the Manual of Style, too. Anyway, hope this helps. If you would like a re-assessment after you've made these changes, please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers. Good work so far, by the way. — AustralianRupert (talk) 03:19, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Question
edit"With the introduction of the Fokker D.VII in 1918, Büchner came into his own". This sentence appears in para 2 of the 'Service as a fighter pilot' section.
My question is: what type(s) of aircraft did Brüchner fly before 1918?
