Why do people keep deleting this page edit

Okay. It's getting very annoying. Why do people keep deleting this page? Is it considered the work of the devil? Or is it just considered unnecessary. Those who think the latter can get stuffed, as far as I'm concerned. Those who think the former - why is it unnecessary to have individual pages for each character? Doesn't the same thing exist for the other characters in skins? Seriously - it's getting ridiculous. Either discuss it here and reach a consensus, or sod off. Grieferhate (talk) 13:46, 16 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

First, adjust your attitude. Second, find some sources that demonstrate that this is a notable character and the redirect can be undone. One source does plus a lot of unsourced text does not make this character notable. – ukexpat (talk) 16:03, 18 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
That enough references? Or do I have to somehow find a script for them as well? And I'm sorry if my attitude offends you, but it is so damn frustrating having a page I worked hard on constantly redirected. I mean - how are you supposed to source a TV show? Sources of the script? Links to the actual episodes? Grieferhate (talk) 23:26, 18 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but no, none of those sources are reliable - a wikia wiki is user created and therefore not reliable; youtube videos aren't references for anything. You need sources that deal with characterisation, character development etc. See WP:RS. – ukexpat (talk) 03:57, 20 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
ukexpat is right. However it is a shame because there is quite a bit of real world information about for this character. You need to learn how to incorporate this type of info into fictional character articles. Many skins characters should not have articles, I'm pretty sure there was a discussion that many 2nd gen characters confined to a list. So not sure why this is different. Search the Google news archive, Digital Spy have some useful info for her, primary sources such as the E4 website are good for characterisation. Also search any news websites for reviews and create a reception section.RaintheOne BAM 22:46, 20 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

New page edit

Okay. I've changed the references and tried to make them reliable. I hope the page can stay now. Because it's frustrating as hell to keep having to sort it out. Grieferhate (talk) 19:07, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

At the end of the day you, like me, are a volenteer. We can only do what our free time allows us too, so I understand your gripe. But..If you feel strongly enough that a article should have it's own article seperate from a list. You are going to have to make more of an effort to establish the character's notability. I know that there are sources out there.. But at present the article still has more storylines than actuall content written from a real world perspective. At present, this should be redirected again.. ASAP.RaintheOne BAM 20:02, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've made as much effort as is humanly possible. I've looked for references everywhere. I can't do this on my own. Why does it have to be redirected? Why can't it be left up to accumulate more references? Like the other articles? I mean - why go to all the effort to redirect when it can stay up and people can add in more references? Grieferhate (talk) 21:48, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well let's be honest. Compare it with other fictional character articles with plenty of sources - It doesn't come up to scratch. You obviously feel strongly about it, so I won't redierect it at this time. As I think it does have potential with there being more sources. Though I'd disagree with you making as much effort as humanly possible, as this article has the potential to go much further than it's current state.RaintheOne BAM 22:07, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Of further note, I've been looking at the pages of other Skins characters, including Tony Stonem, Katie Fitch and Effy Stonem. And so far, my article has far more references even than Effy (which has eight), and the vast majority have less than five. By your logic, and everyone else's, they should be redirected as well. Grieferhate (talk) 22:09, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Please do not remove my comments again. As for what you just said, you are totally correct, they should be redirected and you are welcome to discuss this on the relevant talkpages. However I don't see what this has to do with anything per WP:OSE. We're talking about Franky. Issues include the Lead section not giving a broad enough summary of the article's contents. No critical reception. No storylines development, casting, creation, filming information. Storyline section is WAY too long. When linking Alo, Liv and co, you just mention there first name without there second. How is the general reader meant to know who they are, as most won't even watch Skins. Actror names need to be included after the first mention of a new character. You do not need to add sources to the storyline section as the show itsself is the source.RaintheOne BAM 22:20, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Issues edit

Right. Having a look at the sources, it seems the sources do not back up the said text. "Franky is a very smart, but rather timid teenage girl." cited to [1] - However it only says that Frankie has unisex qualities, "super-intelligent" and acts strange. - Where in that source does it say she is a "timid teenage girl"?

"She dresses in traditionally masculine clothing, styles her hair in a side parting and has until recently only had male friends. At the time of the series, Franky has recently moved to Bristol from Oxford, being the adoptive daughter of two former army men now in a civil partnership." and the next paragrpah "Her profile on "Friendlook" reveals that she was repeatedly victimised, beaten up and humiliated while in Oxford, something that follows her to Bristol. It [...] have led her peers to surmise that she is disturbed." are both unsourced, where did you find this info, or is it Original Research, aka your own POV?

"Franky has generally been well-received by reviewers, with one comparing....." - How can you say she has been generally well recieved by critics if there is only one small comment from a TV listings, and that is in passing. You cannot base the general critics view based on one review.

This kind of proves you need to brush up on your editing and this page should probably be merged. I'd suggest that it best you create a sandbox and request another editor look over your edits in future. As ever, if you need any help, I'm always on hand.RaintheOne BAM 12:27, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I give up. I'm trying my hardest, but nothing I do is satisfactory. I reckon I'm just wasting my time now, so I'm not gonna make any more effort if it's redirected now. I only ask this - why is it just this generation? Why have none of the characters in any of the other generations' pages come under the same scrutiny? Either there's a double standard existing in the community, or people can't be bothered on any of the old pages. I seriously doubt the former, but I hope I'm not proved wrong. Grieferhate (talk) 14:18, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well it appear to be that editors rightly so, prevented these from being split due to lack of notability and to answer your second question... the first generation won a BAFTA and the characters were met with critical praise from the media. Resulting in an American spin-off featuring certain character etc.. This generation of character is new, 6 months old, they need some impact like the former ones did. So I fail to see the double standard. Two second generation character, who were lesbians garnered critical praise from many LGBT people in the spotlight and publications, with many mainstream outlets reporting on the plot. Many interviews and media came as a result.. Maybe as time passes these characters from this series will do the same.. but who knows. Franky is perhaps the most noteworthy of the lot though.RaintheOne BAM 01:22, 2 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nobody else called Franky Fitzgerald. Also, the talk page doesn't have (Skins) in the title so why should the actual article have it? - Unreal7 (talk) 18:35, 25 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merge edit

There has been two articles on this character, and each page Franky Fitzgerald (Skins) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views),Franky Fitzgerald (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) has been redirected to each other and to the list article, there seems to be intermeshing edits, so material may have been transferred from one page to the other. Clearly a merger is needed. 70.24.244.198 (talk) 03:39, 26 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

They need merging together, the article should be under this name as their is no need for disam. After merging histories - The current version of Franky Fitzgerald (Skins) serves the subject the best.Rain the 1 15:58, 27 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Will someone just move this. This is such an easy decision. We do not need consensus for basic things that require only commonsense. What is the point in waiting. Stalling. It wouldn't even be considered a bold move. History merge - All done.Rain the 1 21:57, 1 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
I don't think they know how to. Unreal7 (talk) 22:31, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
You can post a prompt at WikiProject Merge and WikiProject fictional characters... 70.24.244.198 (talk) 03:30, 3 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
I doubt WP:Merge will be able to help - they have a 3 year+ backlog. Maybe the latter can help. :)Rain the 1 11:43, 9 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
The merge didn't seem like it was gonna happen, so I've done the next closest thing. Unreal7 (talk) 11:34, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal edit

I propose that this be merged into Franky Fitzgerald (Skins) and then back again. It should have happened a while back, but hopefully it can now. Unreal7 (talk) 11:16, 2 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pronouns edit

Why are he/him pronouns, and the name “Frank” used in the first paragraph? Is this due to a piece of media outside the tv show, or is it an error? 120.18.191.44 (talk) 08:05, 14 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
