Meikeerthi (Prasasthi) of George III
editEllis prepared a very good meikeerthi (prasasti) of King George III of Great Britain and engraved it in a well in Chennai. It clearly shows that Ellis had studied the meikeerthis of the Tamil kings. Is there any further indications about this anywhere? The style of the meikeerthi is excellent, and shows the command Ellis had over Tamil.-Gopalan evr (talk) 07:23, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
