Restoration
editIn 2018 work was begun on restoring the boat lift. Much of the buildings can no longer be seen as they are covered. Agencies have pledged a reputed 7.500.000 euros (without tax) to restoring the boat lift, with the addition of a museum dedicated to boat lifts around the world and what life was like for those who work(ed) on the canals.
