editI moved the article to Foley (musician), because he's generally credited as "Foley", not as Joe McCreary. He released his own album as "Foley". (Similarly, the article about U2's lead singer is Bono, not"Paul Hewson".) There was also a bit of text copied from thelastmiles.com. I edited the text so that it would not be a copyvio. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 19:09, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Obituary: not of Foley
editI don't know if this obituary is of the person this Wikipedia article is about. Someone else will have to figure that out. 204.210.242.157 (talk) 16:00, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'm fairly certain that's not him. I don't know how old Foley is, but he's not that old. For one thing, this interview describes Foley as a "young man" when he joined Miles Davis' band in 1987. Also, in Paul Tingen's Miles Beyond, Marcus Miller describes Foley as a "kid from Ohio." If he had been 45 or 46 then, I don't think either source would have used that description. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:04, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yup. A kid born in 1941 would not have needed an excuse from school in 1980 . The late McCreary was old enough to be Foley's father and the obituary lists a surviving son, Joseph Folley. If that's the case, I extend condolences. 204.210.242.157 (talk) 16:18, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
