Just a historian's note here, but all GM locomotives built prior to 1941 were built by the Electro-Motive Corporation (EMC). Disagreement

Here is some text that was recently added to the article. It will need to have a published reference to be re-entered in the article:

The use of the term "restoration" for the Flying Yankee is currently under dispute. Radical changes in the components of the trainset have been made and further changes have been announced. These include: Changing from a steam flash boiler heat system to electric baseboard; Conversion of the 72VDC electrical system to 480V-3/phase; Complete conversion of the original braking system to a modern 26L adaptation; Conversions and reconstructions to the physical make-up of the trainset to conform to modern FRA requirements for non-tourist/historical equipment; Planned installation of a 480V HEP generator in place of the original flash boiler; Planned elimination of the orignal Winton 201A engine with an as yet undisclosed replacement power plant; Possible replacement of both main and auxilliary generators for compatibility with a new power plant; Planned replacement of the original cooling system to that which will be compatible to the new power plant.

In short, the work has become a re-building and no longer qualifies the trainset under the term "historic restoration."
