out of tune my a**
editThe comment about the steel guitar being out of tune "because he (Toy Caldwell) didn't know how to tune" is disrespectful and unnecessary. One of the 2 big hits by MTB both of which featured Toy on lead vocals. 73.157.70.241 (talk) 13:15, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- According to George McCorkle, he had just purchased the instrument and did not know how to tune it at the time. I'm sure he learned since then. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 13:28, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- The source does seem a bit dubious, as it includes neither a citation or even the author's name. I'm not qualified to tell whether the steel guitar is out of tune or not, but I tagged it as needing a better source for the reason it is allegedly out of tune. Jah77 (talk) 19:43, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
wrong
editI was wrong. I don't think Toy is lead vocals on the song. Still the way the statement "but it was out of tune because he didn't know how to tune it" gives an impression of disrespect imho 73.157.70.241 (talk) 13:32, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
wrong again
editMy bad...the 2 top 40 hits were heard it in a love song and fore on the mountain. I should just shut up. The comment about steel being out of tune is still pretty lame. 73.157.70.241 (talk) 13:41, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
Doug Gray was lead vox
editJust for record it was Doug Gray on lead vox for fire on the mountain, and the other top 40 hit, heard it in a love song. My bad 73.157.70.241 (talk) 13:43, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
