This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (I am working on this article, it will get very good. I am new here, I still dont know how all this works --Franky Wan (talk) 02:08, 1 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Welcome to Wikipedia, if you are working on an article it is probably a good idea to do it in a user WP:Sandbox first and then move it when it is ready. Also see WP:FIRST. PhantomTech (talk) 02:12, 1 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
I think you can relax a bit now. "xxxx is a chess player" is not a claim to notability, but five-time winner of the Portuguese Chess Championship is, so speedy deletion is now out of the question. It is possible that someone would still think the article doesn't meet the WP:BIO requirements, but it would get a one week discussion at the minimum before it could be deleted. Personally I would argue in favor of keeping the article. Quale (talk) 05:09, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
