John Stevens not to be confused with Jonathan Stephen of WEST

Though Jonathan Stephen was a past President of FIEC and director of Affinity, he is not currently involved in directing the FIEC in an official capacity, to the best fo my knowledge. Jonathan Stephen has been a pastor at Carey Baptist Church. Relations with other churches

How has the recent edit which anonymously removes a great deal of information on publications relating to the FIEC helped readers of this page gain a balanced understanding of the organisation? Why the removal of pertinent references without explanation? Cpsoper (talk) 22:50, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Fundamentalism

Since this is often taken as a perjorative term, and implies a presuppositionalism that does not characterise many evangelicals belonging to FIEC, I question its accuracy. Please justify its use.Cpsoper (talk) 07:11, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Protestant

Since Protestants and 'evangelicals' in dialgoue with Rome are no longer co-terminous, I question the recent removal of this category. Do other editors agree? Cpsoper (talk) 21:14, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Claim to Sub-Apostolic ministry

I have added the claim to the exercise of sub-apostolic ministry in 'Independent Church' by the FIEC's National Director in a semi-official work and included the reference. The full sentence is, 'We believe that this achieves something comparable to the New Testament pattern of sub-apostolic second-generation ministries spanning local churches, which were exercised by Timothy and Titus.' Given these claims, I have requested clearer verification of the commitment to local congregational independence. These official statements appear at significant variance with a historical understanding of congregational independency. Cpsoper (talk) 21:03, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

Reformed - evidence?

The ref evidencing the FIEC's Calvinistic position (FIEC's current statement of faith) only alludes to Evangelical doctrine common to Calvinists and non Calvinists, per wiki's reformed page. It makes no reference to any one of the five points for example, not even perseverance of the saints (which many 'Arminians' also hold). Have awaited verification since 2017, none supplied therefore more general theological designation supplied. Cpsoper (talk) 20:58, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
