The online dictionaries I've looked at for the definition of "amylaceous" (viz. American Heritage 4/e 2000, Collab. Intl. Dictionary of Eng. v0.48, WordNet 2.0) all give "starchy" as a synonym. As such, isn't the wording in this article redundant?
