Dates & dashes

edit

En dashes should be used in scorelines and only full dates and dates with a day and month should be wikilinked, including in the footnotes. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dashes) and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers). Epbr123 20:44, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

fan name?

edit

is it in ukrainian? i was told by a friend that the fans were "шахтером"?--99.230.79.7 (talk) 20:16, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

it is not so. Fan name is "кроты" (kroty) which literally means "moles". "шахтером" is just an accusative case of the team's name. The team players are indead often named "шахтеры", "шахтарі", "горняки", and "гірники" which all are essentially just russian and ukrainian words for "miners". But fans never or very rarely called so. Source - I am ukrainian and for many years a Shakhtar fan 87.206.237.176 (talk) 12:00, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Notable players

edit

Adrian Pukanych is the notable player? Don't make me laugh. There is a too much of honour for him to be named "notable player", he does not merit it. He is just one among many. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.124.101.112 (talk) 15:44, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Financial figures

edit

Since it is not common to put them in Wiki-articles about sportclubs (as far as I noticed). I'll place a link to the clubs current financial situation here... This is that link. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 16:22, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding random players to "notable players"

edit

Please stop adding random players to "notable players". The list is not a list of every player who played for Shakhtar, but of those who made an impact (that why the word notable is there). Players who have played in the club for a short period of time or players who mostly came out as substitutes don't belong in the list! That includes Marcelo Moreno, who played a small amount of games and wasloaned and then sold and should not be in the list! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.222.214.148 (talk) 18:44, 6 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Firs Champions League Group Stage Appearance.

edit

The information in the article is just wrong. After ten days at the club, he won the 2003–04 Ukrainian Cup, and after three month, for the first time in club history, the club made it to the UEFA Champions League group stage, which won him the 2004 Romania Coach of the Year title.[8] Shakhtar appeared in the UEFA CHampions League group stage for the first time in 2000-2001 (Source - http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2000/clubs/index.html). The words "for the first time in club history" should be removed just because it is not true. 87.206.237.176 (talk) 12:05, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
