Redirect to FA Premier League
editI would have thought that the vast majority of people looking for FAPL will be looking for FA Premier League, and so I suggest that this page, FAPL redirects there, with this page becoming FAPL (disambiguation). OK? MrStoofer (talk) 08:36, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
AlternativeFAPL is not mentioned in FA Premier League, so per MOS:DABACRO it needs to be mentioned in the article *before* being listed in this DAB. Once that is done, how about making FAPL redirect to FA Premier League, and put a {{redirect}} type hatnote at the top of FA Premier League and deleting the DAB completely (per WP:TWODABS). Widefox; talk 16:58, 19 June 2013 (UTC)- I agree. Add a citation to the article showing use of the acronym FAPL to refer to the FA Premier League. After this is done - and only after this is done, redirect FAPL to Premier League and add a redirect hatnote indicating the one other use. bd2412 T 18:09, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- I did a quick check before posting above, it shouldn't take long to find a good enough citation. Widefox; talk 19:16, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- Object Never heard of the abbreviation FAPL in relation to the Premier League. At least, not commonly used in Irish newspapers (massive followers of British soccer). Looks more like an European-centered decision than a neutral one as there are two African subjects related to FAPL and just one European. The Banner talk 08:37, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Comment A google search for FAPL brings up an info box on the FA Premier League, followed by the website for the FA Premier League, followed by this page, followed by numerous references to the FA Premier League as "FAPL". It is clear that FAPL is a well-used abbreviation for FA Premier League. It is also relevant that the two alternative uses for the abbreviation are extremely obscure. Furthermore, the Premier League itself uses the abbreviation: See its official website MrStoofer (talk) 09:32, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- Object now we've looked into this, and another entry has been added, my comment above is obsolete. I'd need convincing it meets the primary topic now. Widefox; talk 16:00, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Widefox, a Google search on FAPL makes it very clear it is the primary topic, doesn't it? MrStoofer (talk) 09:40, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
