Talk:Ey Iran

I once heard Ey Iran used as the introduction to a weekly Iranian radio programme in a Canadian city. It was an orchestral arrangement sung by a man who had obviously been trained in a Western classical music singing style. The version is very proud and powerful and the singing amazing. I really would like to get hold of it. Does anyone know who that singer might have been? It's not any of the versions linked at the bottom of the article. Thank you! Ey Iran

Ey Iran is the national anthem of Iran. The Islamic regime has only partially modified the lyrics, yet most if not all the melody and structure remain the same. To claim this anthem is not the national anthem of Iran is false. It is fair to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran use a modified version of Ey Iran. Anyone who has ears knows this. Inconsistency

The article mentions that Ey Iran briefly had official status (it does not say when). Later it says Ey Iran was "unofficially used in the transitionary period between the time of the Shah (deposed February, 1979) until the adoption of the national anthem of the Islamic Republic(March, 1980)". The anthem of the Islamic Republic; Sorood-e Melli-e Jomhoori-e Eslami-e Iran however was adopted in 1990. The article about the last anthem states that it replaced the 'anthem used during the time of Ayatollah Khomeyni'. This last anthem presumably used from march 1980 until 1990 can not be found in one of these articles. Could someone make clear which anthem was used after 1980, what the official anthem was (if there was one) during the transition period when Ey Iran was used unofficially and when the briefly period was in which Ey Iran had a official status.

I appreciate how rather than put a "citation needed", you just delete stuff. That'll show anyone who was gonna read this article, learn that information, and then discuss it with others, possibly provoking the answers you crave!

Yes, it's true! I don't have all three! So now you can:

1. Put it back, without any qualifiers.

2. Put it back, listing the three Arabic words (for this I recommend we find someone who speaks proper Persian and Arabic, as I speak only the most basic phrases of both thusfar.

3. Put it back, mentioned "nur" as an example and hoping for the rest later.

4. Don't put it back, and wait for the other two.

5. Begin to doubt if 3 is TRULY the number of Arabic words, and thus you'll achieve your original goal of keeping this information off wikipaedia. (Why this was your goal is beyond me, I like to think you're either a hardcore Persian nationalist or just a regular type wikipaedophile. Either way you have some amount of my scorn.

6. Skip all this thinking and just delete what I've written, thus achieving your original goal of KEEPING THIS INFORMATION OFF WIKIPAEDIA.

Alternative translation

"May my life be sacrificed for my pure motherland"
is considered to be translation of
جان من فدای خاک پاک میهنم
That can be translated as
" My life is devoted to my heavenly motherland" .

new to editing and need help
