Later on... edit

The Gladden Fields article this was merged with then got merged into Isildur which was where the link to Estelmo came from but the Estelmo article (whose lack of page references that I have remedied was a reason for deletion) was turned into a link to the Aragorn article's Isildur section that does not mention Estelmo at all (perhaps because of confusion with Aragorn having been called "Estel" in his youth).71.105.190.227 (talk) 00:01, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Since a user who forbids anyone but registered users from engaging him on his talk page insists on reverting any restoration of the article to an informative state instead of the totally uninformative redirect to the Aragorn article's Isildur section I have deleted the "Estelmo" link from Isildur's article (the reference given there does not have page numbers for the mentions of Estelmo (page 276 of the 1st edition hardcover (ISBN 0-395-29917-9 or 978-0-395-29917-3) and 294 of the 40th anniversary illustrated hardcover(ISBN 978-0-358-44892-1) but does point to the correct chapter).
Since that chapter of Unfinished Tales contains the only canonical mention of Estelmo we should leave it at that...absolutely **NO** purpose is served by Estelmo's name being a link to an article about his boss's brother's distant descendant who was known in his youth by the alias "Estel" but in which article there is no information about Estelmo (an extremely minor character anyway).71.105.190.227 (talk) 23:52, 5 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
You are right about the minor character (tho' actually, he may once have been mentioned in the Isildur section of Aragorn, but that's ancient history); he's now at Isildur#Death and is cited there. He's not notable on his own which is why the editors were undoing your attempts to create Estelmo article. I've updated the redirect. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:43, 6 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
