Mordva (Merdi / Erza) population in Chuvassia

edit

According to Finnish Eero Kuussaari: "Suomen Suvun Tiet" Helsinki 1935, there were Erza inhabitants living at least in Alatyr (Rator oz), Kurmish (Kurmiz), Shumerlja (Sumerlja), Oraishi (Oraizi), Kanash (Kanaz), Urmari (Urmariz), and Turlema (Turlemaz) area villages. A Russian 1:200.000 map, published in 2003 shows at least two villages south west of Tsheboksari (Sevoksari) both named Izhlej (Izh River). The third Izhlej village is located on the upper course of Tsivil River. Village Myslej (Mys River) is located east of Sumerlja.

Some sources are giving the Mordva (Merdi) population in Chuvassia called Suaslan Erzas.
