Observation
editThe article highlights Tucker's assertion that Santa Anna would not have entertained such a dalliance for racist reasons. However, certainly there are plenty of historical accounts of other avowed racists taking up with persons of other races. Though I have not researched myself, I wonder to what degree Tucker's assertion is given credence by other historians and, if it is not given credence, whether the article should be more careful about giving this assertion so much weight.
