As User:Dlohcierekim notes below, nothing in the body of the article shows any notability: it should contain the reasons why he got the obits. I'd have thought that quoting the NYT obits verbatim would surely violate copyright - needs to be re-written into the main text. TrulyBlue (talk) 17:47, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

The yachting magazine "The Rudder" has a long biographical article about him in the June 1916 issue. See [2].
