Todo edit

1.Fix up the wording a bit. Examples of problems below:

"In all, Hurricane Dennis caused $2.4 million (2005 USD) in damage."

Add "in Mississippi".

"Over 40 structures were flooded, 200 people to leave their homes."

Add "forcing".

"In preparations for Hurricane Dennis, 190,000 people were given evacuation orders, though many opted not to."

Change "In preparations" "in preparation" or "in advance of".

"In preparations for Hurricane Dennis, 190,000 people were given evacuation orders, though many opted not to.[2] Residents of Jackson County were issued a mandatory evacuation, while Hancock County issued a voluntary evacuation. Governor Haley Barbour issued a state of emergency..."

"Issued" is used 3 times in 2 sentences. Try a different word.

"Additionally, a horse park in Starkville was caring for over 50 horses belonging to residents who were forced to evacuate"

Something just sounds odd about that. A reader's response to that sentence might be "and?".

2. Can't really think of anything else. Maybe add a bit more meteorological statistics in the "Impact" section, but other than that just a copy-edit and tweaking of wording is needed. Not much to cover for this storm in Mississippi. TheNobleSith (talk) 02:12, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Q

A Yes, I always like to receive feedback on my writing of articles.

Q

A I don't do a large amount of writing outside of Wikipedia, and if I do, it's mostly school-related.

Q

A My writing style has changed greatly since I joined the Tropical Cyclone WikiProject. As I continue to read the many FAs within the project and write my own articles, I feel that my writing style is progressively improving. Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 16:49, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

GA Review edit

Passes on all counts. I don't think this can make it to FA, though, as there's simply not enough information to cover. TheNobleSith (talk) 18:24, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. :) I wasn't planning on FA; GA's fine for this one. :) Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 19:54, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
