Chinese vs. Taiwanese

edit

The category "Chinese film directors" is supposed to be for "mainland" directors. Since there's already a Taiwanese film directors cat. (which Hou is in), I've removed the category for "Chinese film director". Even though Yang was born in Shanghai, I think that he is consistantly seen as a "Taiwanese" director in that Taiwan cinema and Chinese (mainland) cinema can be seen as distinct entities.

I don't recall the Wikipedia policy specifically noted that the category of "Chinese film directors" can only refer to mainland Chinese directors (and exclude Taiwanese film directors). I think the category should be fine, since he was born in Shanghai, China. --67.2.149.153 06:40, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Wind (2007)

edit

Does anyone know what happened to this project? I assume it was never released as there's nothing about it on IMDb, and I also assume Yang was in the process of working on it when he died. Has it been shelved, or is it now in the hands of another director? Or, has it been finished and simply not released? Cyrenaic (talk) 12:35, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
