Beginnings of an edit war

Honest1too (talk · contribs) keeps removing sourced information regarding Edward Caraballo's time in prison. Sorry, but this attributable info -- a wikipedia article isn't supposed to be a platform for whitewashing the facts or offering personal opinion.

Nor is it for focusing on one negative quote by a prison commander that was embarrased about losing control of his prison. From the negative and slanted nature of his contributions, and to his contributions to articles relating to this case, Alcarillo clearly a Tendentious editor, with an ax to grind about Mr. Idema. He is impugning my 20 year reputation as a journalist . The General quoted says that I was never in any danger. How can that be when 7 people were killed during that riot? The General says he sent people to get me out, and I guess he thinks I was mentally unstable for not going with them, but I have videotape of those very people who were in fact the organizers of the riot in my block, and the individuals that had threatened my life This General is not qualified as a mental health professional to impugn my mental health, and therefor this negative conjecture about me, a living person, should be removed, as per Wikipedia editing guidelines relative to Living Persons .Honest1too 15:40, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Regardless, this person is mentioned as a prison official who commented on the record about Caraballo's mental health. If you can find sourced information to the contrary (note the emphasisis on sourced), by all means include it in the article. Just don't blank out stuff you don't like. I will keep restoring it. You can also help the article by including a source that references Caraballo's Emmys -- specifically what they were earned for, in which years, etc. Alcarillo 05:58, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

"Sourced" simpy means something has been published. This is a statement that is taken out of context of the prison riot. It is extremely naive to believe something is true because it was said by an official.

The excerpted quote isn't the only mention of possible mental illness -- nor was Caraballo the only one cited. Read the source (emphasis mine):

The officials and guards say they are worried about the men's security and mental health, particularly Caraballo's.... But Caraballo, an Emmy-award winning cameraman who said he was filming a documentary on the two others when they were all arrested, has been attacking prison guards and acting unstable, officials said....

Covert photography?

On a related note, this user keeps inserting Caraballo's interest as "covert photography". What is that? Is it necessary to include "covert"? I don't think so. Alcarillo 16:23, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Covert photoraphy is not an "interest" it is a professional specialty, and was used extensively during my embedding, and is very relavent to this case, and to providing information about this subject.Honest1too 15:38, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Malicious and Misleading Editing

I stumbled across alcarillo because of a copyright violation on his page. Then I noticed that he has an unhealthy obsession with a small group of people who are linked through my book and circumstance : Billy Waugh, Ed Caraballo, Robin Moore, Jack Idema and myself. By looking at his multiple edits I have noticed that he has constantly removed solid useful additions by others to maintain his own version of these people's bios. In Ed's example, Caraballo is a well known filmaker, cameraman and obviously has greater in depth personal knowledge of events and people that alcarillo keeps messing with. I reviewed some of the previous edits to other bios and having interviewed and written a book on many of these people find this constant, unwarranted reversion and arguing counterproductive to the open source, inclusive purpose of Wiki. I don't find Carballo's complaints about his profile unwarranted.

For example on my page alcarrilo wanted proof of my kidnapping. There are 35,100 cites on Google when you type in Kidnapping+Pelton. If you want me to go on and write my own Wiki I will but I have my own website with my bio. I made the mistake of I corrected my bio and added links to profiles in articles in Time, Esquire, Mens Journal, CNN, ABC, and was immeadiately swarmed by his ilk who were somehow insulted by the addition of mainstream profiles and links to my work.

alcarrilo continually deletes the addition of "convicted felon" to Idema's bio and now harasses Caraballo about his view of his own work. Finally alcarillo. Both Ed and I are real people that use our real names. And so is Moore, Idema, Waugh and the other entities you obsess with. Please respect that there are other people on this planet that have opinions, insight, facts and contributions. Your need to tell us what we are and what we do is I have already given you my email and you are free to contact me. Please remember that some of us play the game while others throw rocks from the sidelines. This is a polite request to do your homework and add, not detract from the goal of adding information.

3 vs. 4 Local Emmy awards

I have replaced Caraballo's fourth Emmy that UTC took away. It is located on the same Emmy page that UTC sites from.
