Main span length edit

We seem to have two sources with noticably different data. Are they both talking about the same span? The longer measurement is talking about the swing span, not the stationary one. I don't know what BridgeHunter is talking about. Note that the NBI is not necessarily accurate. We need to find a third, or more, source. - Denimadept (talk) 10:27, 15 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

The swing span is the approx 456' span, but it is really two spans of ~228' or so because the pier is in the middle. I'm not an expert on what determines a 'main span', but the longer span is actually the stationary thru-truss, which is 326.1 ft center-to-center of the bearings (one of the longest thru-trusses in the state). 23.25.224.97 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 13:20, 15 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

The swing span is usually considered a single span, even when it's a double span swiveling in the middle rather than at one end. - Denimadept (talk) 06:24, 16 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
