It's normal to include only the heir presumptive or heir apparent and their heirs directly unless say you have three unmarried brothers and a forth with a son where a full explanation of the likely succession is helpful. I've clipped the succession to the normal form. Alci12 17:56, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Needs updating (2018). The Earl Randolph died. edit

It looks as though the currently (21 April 2018) WP-listed Earl of Galloway, Randolph Keith Reginald, died, and the current earl is reported to be his cousin Andrew Clyde, Baron Stewart of Garlies of Cumloden, 14th Earl of Galloway, now of Austin, Texas and Cumloden House, Scotland; also, the UK barony of Garlies of Cumloden, held by the earl, was legally severed some time after 1921 from the separate barony of Garlies formerly held by the 12th Earl, Randolph Algernon Ronald, and now held by Timothy, Lord and Baron of Garlies, Glenmannoch, Blairbuis and Buchan Forest, now of Tighnabruaich, Scotland. Apparently, the new heir presumptive to the Galloway earldom and the Garlies of Cumloden barony is the present holder Andrew's son Alexander Patrick Stewart (b. 1980), who is apparently not the heir presumptive to the Garlies barony or Glenmannoch, Blairbuis and Buchan Forest baronies (see Notarial Instrument, Book 31, folio 135, Sasine Register of the Stewardtry of Kirkcudbright, 26 July 1921). The article needs mending.
The Court of Lord Lyon at Edinburgh is the legal authority for Scottish titles, but it's not clear how to cite that court for WP.
The late earl Randolph's WP article also should be repaired and updated. 70.112.90.106 (talk) 05:28, 22 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
