Spam???

edit

According to one edit this part is spam. Dromoland Castle Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels Worldwide.[1]

As I am not convinced, I like to have more opinions. The Banner talk 14:25, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'd say it is ok. The question is whether having a link to the hotel website _and_ to the Historic Hotels site is a bit of an overkill. Maybe one is enough. However, there is a broken link on this page (footnote 6).Drow69 (talk) 10:58, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Quality rating

edit

While it was wrong of an anon. / IP editor to alter Project ratings, I can see merit in some of the points made, and do not believe this article rises to C class yet, not least because of imbalance in content. Comments welcome, pending a proposal, for the WP Ireland rating at least, to return to Start class.SeoR (talk) 10:46, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

The article is certainly not perfect but to my opinion it is the quality rating system that is fundamentally flawed. The IP was demanding more info over the hotel. In fact there are already three pieces about that: a small section about the change from home to hotel, a small section about the Michelin-starred hotel-restaurant and a far bigger section about famous guests (with dodgy source). I am aware that the hotel part a) can be better and b) is close to the pitfall of advertising. Although luxurious, it does nothing exceptional more than other hotels do. Hello, The Banner! I agree re. the risks of advertising (and of IPs which may be from agencies!) - though I also think we can be a bit tough on the business side of the world, which, in proportion, is also worthy of recording - we are much more demanding of companies, even quite major ones, and of, say, academics, than of sportspeople, or things mostly now of only passing historic interest, such as civil parishes. Be that as it may, and agreeing that "high end" hotels are partly a function of branding / hot air, I think a slightly more detailed coverage of the hotel would be appropriate. However, with 10.4k of articles still to review, I will leave this one for now, and review in a few weeks.SeoR (talk) 12:21, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
