Accusations of incest in this article edit
- "...Dorothy in tow, gaily sojourning towards a secluded area of woodland where they could have their incestuous way with her."
While one might comment on the idea of a rumour being developed that there is was incest between the two siblings, this is done in a manner that is factually inaccurate and is disparaging to both Wordsworth's and Coleridge.--Knucmo2 17:41, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
It also suggests "group-sex," which, even to the most perverted at the time, would have been revolting

Dorothy Wordsworth and Dove Cottage edit
The story about Beatrix Potter buying Dove Cottage in 1931, and finding the manuscript of Dorothy's journal in 'the barn', is charming but quite at odds with the article on Dove Cottage itself, and other sources.
It seems that the National Trust are under the impression that they bought Dove Cottage in 1890.

The idea that Beatrix Potter was responsible for bringing Dorothy's Journals to publication is completely misleading. Dorothy's Journals were first published in 1897, edited by William Knight.

Alfoxton vs Alfoxden edit
As far as I can tell – the name of the journal Dorothy wrote, is The Alfoxden Journal 1798, but the names of the town and house are currently Alfoxton and Alfoxton House. Either the name of the village was changed at/over some time, or the title of the journal was a purposeful misspelling? Anyone know? In addition to housing the Rowe collection of William Wordsworth in our library archives, BYU also sends study abroad interns to work for free at the Wordsworth trust.
