Talk:Dona Nati (1939)

Latest comment: 11 years ago by Palmeira

Except for the wartime service, particularly the notable participation in the efforts to supply the forces in the Philippines from Australia before their surrender, the commercial service of the Dona Nati, as with most commercial ships, is not well documented short of detailed research through shipping records of the time with those probably revealing little but arrivals and departures from various ports. Even her continued wartime service is not well documented, again not untypical for cargo vessels, even though she was almost certainly under WSA allocation or charter in war efforts. The sketch of the initial page, largely from official Army documents, may be about all that is readily available. Any expansion efforts must not confuse the 1939 ship with the later ship of the same name operating for the same company after the 1939 ship's sale in 1951. The second Dona Nati began operations during or about that year. Palmeira (talk) 02:29, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
