Album?

Should this not be classified as an EP? - eo (talk) 17:10, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Support; it's only five tracks and thirty minutes long, so I completely agree that this should be recognized as an extended play. I'd like to get a wider consensus on the matter before any changes are made though, so I'll add an RfC tag to see where the rest of the community stands on this. • Support as per WikiRedactor. The term "mini-album" should really be removed, it's ambiguous and confusing, considering that its Wikipedia article says it's a mini vinyl record. — prism 21:32, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Although I'd normally agree that a five-track release should be classified as an extended play, most sources refer to it as a mini-album. Röyksopp themselves explained why they call it a mini-album rather than an EP. SN▲PSN▲P 03:58, 28 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • It's still not the correct technical term and as I've said, mini-album is confusing to readers. If anything classify Do It Again as an EP and write in the Background section or something that they call it a "mini-album", without linking. — prism 10:19, 28 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • @SnapSnap: If I could point out that section in The Daily Beast article, Robyn is quoted with saying "I call it an EP!" and Svein Berge is quoted with saying "You call it an EP. I call it mini-album. I think it has to do with the fact that 'EP' sounds like a selection of tracks, whereas 'mini-album' sounds like a cohesive whole." It would seem like their only distinction between the two terms is a perceived sense of unity, which is a matter of opinion and does not change the technical distinctions that separate a studio album from an extended play. • Comment; since there seems to be a consensus towards treating the project as an EP, would everyone be alright with me moving the article to "Do It Again (EP)" and making the necessary changes in the article itself? WikiRedactor (talk) 23:03, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Since this discussion has been open for one week and no additional opinions have been added since June 28, I will go ahead and make these adjustments in the article. WikiRedactor (talk) 15:31, 4 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
