Charlie Drayton

Need to link to more info on Charlie Drayton, who is a very interesting musician. Although he often drums for Divinyls, he is better known as a bass player, and his credits are huge.Leeborkman 01:42, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Divinyls... plural

Just an explanation. Xanzzibar changed "Divinyls are" to "Divinyls is", and I reverted to "Divinyls are". There are three reasons for this... First, because in Australia, we generally follow British grammar, and the convention in British English is to use plural verb with a musical group. Second, because in both British and American English, a plural-seeming band name, by convention, takes a plural verb. See American_and_British_English_Differences, where this is put more succinctly. And third, because "Divinyls is", even if it were correct, is decidedly unnatural to my ears. Hope that's okay. Leeborkman 14:14, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

I read somewhere the simple, common-sense test. If you would call the band "they", then use plural. If you would call the band "it", then use singular. "Remember the Divinyls? It was a great band." YUCK. "Remember the Divinyls? They were a great band". YES. Leeborkman 23:50, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Proposed major edits

I intend further wikifying this article including adding in-line refs, sectioning and tidying up. The process may take one to two weeks and interim stages may look disorganised / incomplete but hopefully I will be able to get it up to B-class. 3rd major edit completed, hopefully the refs support more of the content and sectioning has improved. I'm not entirely happy with the Lead, the band members list and the soundtrack subsection. Songwriting collaborations

Sure. While I'm not certain of the details of the 'collaboration', Cyndi recorded "Like a Cat" for her A Night to Remember album, and Chrissie covered "Human on the Inside" (re-titled "Human") with her band the Pretenders.Nqr9 (talk) 02:31, 4 June 2018 (UTC)

"Human on the Inside" is credited to Mark McEntee and Shelly Peiken - so if Chrissy Amphlett worked with Chrissie Hynde in a songwriting collaboration, it isn't on that song. RGCorris (talk) 16:53, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
