The seventh century. The author of the edition (McLeod) argues (at p 112) that the bulk of the Old Irish text of DAC was compiled prior to the compilation of the Senchas Már. The compilation of the Senchas Már has since been dated to 'roughly between 660 and 680' (Liam Breatnach, The Early Irish Law Text Senchas Már and the Question of its Date, E.C. Quiggin Memorial Lectures 13, Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic, University of Cambridge, 2011, page 42).
