Talk:Deutsche Telekom

— Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.181.79.78 (talk) 13:47, 9 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Isn't Deutsche Telekom still largely owned by the Bundesrepublik? This probably deserves a mention. DirectorStratton 07:00, July 28, 2005 (UTC) Found it. Less than I had thought. DirectorStratton 07:01, July 28, 2005 (UTC)

-->A more detailed Answer : Hello Directorstratten, and yes, as you found out the DT is still partly owned by the Bundesrepublik. But the share of of state is largely decreasing in the past few years due to 1. The European Union and its competition rules 2. The financial problems the BRD currently faces(the national debt has been increasing for the past few years=

So, nowadays, the BRD has sold everything except 15,4% of its shares, and the state-owned Bank KFW(Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau - Reconstruction Loan Corporation) ownes currently 22,4%, but will sell these shares to investors(not speculators, but common people) via the stock exchange.

By the way, the last one of these sellings took effect at July 2005, when the state announced that it will sell 7,3 % of the Deutsche Telekom shares to KFW.

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group edit

DTAG (NYSE ticker symbol DTG) is also the name of the US-based company "Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group," which owns Dollar Rent-A-Car and Thrifty Car Rental. I'm considering writing an article on the company and am wondering how to title it as DTAG currently redirects to this article (Deutsche Telekom).

Should I:

  1. Create a disambig page listing both and title the new article "Dollar_Thrifty_Automotive_Group" and/or DTG
  2. Create the DTAG article and offer a note that "DTAG can refer to Deutsche Telekom AG"
  3. Put a note on the Deutsche Telekom page that "DTAG can refer to "Dollar_Thrifty_Automotive Group"? (Probably not good as most people won't come to it via the DTAG redirect.)

I'm not a super-experienced Wikipedian, so I thought I'd solicit comment before Plunging Forward. - cluth 11:46, September 12, 2005 (UTC)

In my opinion, option #1is the right thing to do. Naming the new article Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group conforms to the Wikipedia naming conventions and users entering the abbreviation DTAG might be looking for any of the two companies (or something entirely different). -- Marcika 17:04, 6 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

The article is in a shockingly bad situation edit

I can´t believe how this major global company has an article with such a low quality. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.225.131.162 (talk) 14:21, 29 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

ETIKETTENSCHWINDEL bei T-Online.de! Wieso nicht Ströer-Online.de? edit

Die Seite wurde von der Telekom verkauft, warum heißt sie T(elekom)-Online??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.227.223.119 (talk) 14:11, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

State ownership edit

Disclosure of state-owned stakes in DT on the official website: [1].--eh bien mon prince (talk) 13:37, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Same as Talk:Volkswagen Group/Archives/2018#State ownership, ownership of 32% does not mean that "legal entity that undertakes commercial activities on behalf of the state, its owner".--Jklamo (talk) 17:41, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Jklamo: "OECD experts note that there has never been a unified definition for the term “state-owned enterprises” [...] Nevertheless, the OECD (2015) has attempted to develop a unified definition of SOEs that would include companies controlled by the state, which acts as their sole owner or the owner of a majority or material minority stake (voting shares). Material minority ownership stakes represent shares (voting shares) of at least 10%." source--eh bien mon prince (talk) 00:26, 16 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Subsidiary edit

TheeFactChecker (talk) 11:20, 31 August 2020 (UTC) A stake in a company is different than a subsidiary. I think it would be more relevant to only include the subsidiaries of Deutsche Telekom and not include the less relevant partial stakes or shares.Reply
