149 Cessation edit

As a DDRE employee, I can assure you that the 149 is most definitely still in production. I see a fellow make brand new heads for these every day from 6 - 2

"naturally aspirated" is incorrect edit

The introductory section refers to the 12V149 and 16V149 as being naturally aspirated. This is incorrect, as the 149 series are two-stroke engines they require forced induction, and the base models, like other two-stroke Detroits, have Roots blowers. Are RD-350's naturally aspirated or not ? Detroit itself calls them "NA" for "naturally aspirated." All the blower does is scavenge the crankcase, similar to what gasoilne two-strokes do by pumping outside air through the transfer ports on the piston's downstroke.
