Renamed (moved) page from "deshbandhu College" to "ramanujan College" edit

The page itself, as well as the college website, said that the new name (since 2010) was Ramanujan College. So I renamed the page, after finding that there had been no discussion of the issue on this talk page. If this move was not appropriate then please feel free to argue on this talk page that it should be moved back to its previous name. --Presearch (talk) 19:29, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

See below comment from Iiseradi. I will move page back to Deshbandhu College. --Presearch (talk) 17:58, 27 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Why are both old and new names listed on U Delhi website? edit

Why does the University of Delhi website list both "Ramanujan College" and "Deshbandhu College" on its list of colleges on its website, HERE? Do both still exist? The parenthesized "(Morning)" and "(Evening)" are not explained on the webpage. Perhaps this notation is self-explanatory and widely understood in India, but it is not self-evident to many non-Indian readers of the page, so any such notation should be explained. Update: I queried User:Titodutta and received the following response (DIFF):
I can tell you about Kolkata, a college may have 3 different names depending on schedules. I studied in City College (Kolkata), the same college (building) was known as Rammohan College (girls, morning time), and Anandamohan College (evening, mainly boys).
I have quickly checked the article titles you have mentioned, and I am unsure here. --Tito Dutta (talk) 21:09, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

I suspect this is what is happening with Ramanujan and Deshbandhu. Therefore the article should probably accommodate this suspicion, and accommodate it as a fact if it can be confirmed and reliably sourced as a fact. Please add any relevant WP:RS reliable sources!! -- Presearch (talk) 00:11, 23 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
The following message was put on the talk page of User:Akash816, a new editor with only 3 edits, who had recently edited this article, seeming to revert it to refer only to Deshbandhu (query DIFF):
Greetings! Perhaps you know something about the relationship between Ramanujan College and Deshbandhu College. Is it true that they are distinct colleges within the University of Delhi, but they use many or all of the same facilities at different times of day (i.e., morning versus evening)? If this is a topic you know about, you can be very helpful for ensuring that Wikipedia's coverage of both colleges is correct. Please see the talk page of the article. If there is indeed a morning vs evening distinction in this way, a key problem will be finding what is called a reliable source to cite to explain this fact. Please see WP:RS for an explanation of what Wikipedia needs in a reliable source. Thank you --Presearch (talk) 00:29, 23 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
I hope this user or someone else can help resolve this problem of how the colleges relate. --Presearch (talk) 00:36, 23 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Page named Deshbandhu College moved to Ramanujan College
Deshbandhu College and Ramanujan Colleges are working currently from the same building and are using some common facilities but both are different. Ramanujan College , in near future will be ready with its new campus and is totally different from Deshbandhu College. As you have changed its name from Deshbandhu College to Ramanujan , please revert it to original name Deshbandhu College for that you can clarify it from College website. It would better to create one more page named Ramanujan College. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iiseradi (talkcontribs) 09:48, 27 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Based on the above comment from Iiseradi, I will move the page back to Deshbandhu college, and will make some simple edits to have the page better reflect what the comment above says about the relation between the two colleges. --Presearch (talk) 17:57, 27 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
