Contested deletion

This article should not be speedy deleted as being about a musical recording that does not indicate its own importance and where the artist's article does not exist, because... The reason for speedy deletion is invalid. This article is clearly not about a musical recording. Furthermore, the article is about a person's role in a music culture in various capacities such as a promoter and writer, it also refers to the subject's importance in the realm of graffiti art. I believe the text and referenced citations plainly denote why the subject should be in the encyclopedia. A recognized pioneer in an artistic discipline, denoting a named and recognized style (monster rock in this case) is clearly significant and clearly supported by the referenced printed matter. Likewise, on the music side and in reference to rave culture, the named pioneers and instigators of that culture are just beginning to be documented in printed material such as in the book cited, "The Underground is Massive." In order to better validate the importance, I added links to the art and (sub)culture to which this subject is relevant, which I had not done before. Those being graffiti and rave. Unlike blues or rock and roll, electronic rave music and its culture are only beginning to be documented, so I can understand why someone unfamiliar with that might reflexively want to speedily delete, essentially because they are not familiar with the subjects. I can link more in the article if needed. Also, I am just beginning this article, there is a lot more information (backed with good references) that I am planning to add. Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... The article and its subject are significant, meeting and exceeding all of Wikipedia's standards for significance, supported by reliable, printed, secondary sources from well-known publishers and authors that have already been cited previously in Wikipedia, The History of American Graffiti, and The Underground is Massive: How Electronic Dance Music Conquered America. "He is also recognized for instigating Pittsburgh's rave scene in 1991." The claim of instigating a music scene is certainly a significant claim, is in fact notable as evidenced and supported by the referenced material, as well as the subjects role as a writer for that subculture. The claim "he is credited as being Pittsburgh’s first graffiti superstar and inventor of the “monster rock style” of graffiti lettering." is certainly significant, the claim was almost taken verbatim from the reference material. Not only is it significant, but notable: later in the book there are quotes from other artists that say the style influenced their art. Hi. Without offering any thoughts on the ability to satisfy WP:N, I think there are sufficient claims in the article to avoid A7 speedy deletion. I think anyone who thinks the article should be deleted would need to pursue WP:AFD. 823510731 (talk) 19:01, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Article needs more third party sources
